The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition is administered jointly by the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the College of Natural Science.

Freshmen Seminars at State.Seminars are offered on a variety of topics, taught by MSU faculty, both on-campus and abroad.

The department offers bachelor of science degree programs for dietetics and food science through the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and a bachelor of science degree in nutritional sciences through the College of Natural Science. 

The graduate curriculum offers masters of science and doctor of philosophy degree programs in food science through the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as well as in human nutrition through both the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and College of Natural Sciences.
