Capstone Research
HNF 480 - Concepts in Human Nutrition Research Methods provides
nutritional sciences students an opportunity to conduct independent research. Students apply knowledge gained from various nutrition, biology and chemistry courses to a research project. It is sometimes possible to couple experiences gained from an internship or work in a professor's laboratory with this HNF 480 project to enhance the independent research experience.
Examples of research projects conducted by previous nutritional sciences students include:
- Milk and Caffeinated Beverage Consumption of Smokers vs. Non-Smokers
- Determination of Percentage of Honors College Students Enrolled in an Introductory Nutrition Class Meeting the 1992 Food Guide Pyramid Serving Recommendations
- Rehabilitation of Protein Deficient Rats
